GÖKOVA GEOMETRY / TOPOLOGY PROCEEDINGS |
Proceedings of Gökova Geometry-Topology Conference 2018-2019
We dedicate this volume to the memory of Sir Michael Atiyah, a great mathematician of 20-21st centuries. He is well known for his foundational work in Topology and Geometry, in particular in K-theory, Index theory, and Gauge theory. More recently he has done fundamental work on TQFT and physics. He was a supporter of Gökova Geometry Topology Conferences, which he attended in 1996, and wrote an article on QFT in its proceedings. He had a very warm and friendly presence, always willing to give a friendly ear to mathematicians around him, while giving good advice. His Gökova visit left a lasting impression among all the participants. Michael, this modest Gökova volume is to you from us, with utmost respect.
